It’s election time in Hoboken again, and if you’ve been conscious you’ve no doubt already been inundated with mailings, phones calls, and even personal visits from various candidates. It can all be a bit overwhelming, and debates and forums can be extremely useful in figuring out whose positions and experience seem the best match.
That’s why it’s great news that the Hoboken Quality of Life Coalition not only hosted candidates forums for the City Council At-Large position (on October 12th and 16th), but has posted video of the forums online. All the candidates for the At-Large Council Seat participated: Joshua Einstein, Vanessa Falco, Michael Flett, Laini Hammond, Andrew Impastato, Charles Matthews, and Angelo Valente, taking questions submitted by voters at the Mile Square Theater. The forums were hosted by Bob Bowdon, Executive Director at Choice Media, and were recorded by videographer Catherine Stratton and the AV club from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Each video is about two hours long, resulting in a thorough rundown of a broad range of issues facing the city of Hoboken. Thus they’re a crucial tool voters can use to make an informed voting decision, especially considering how large the candidate field is.
The HQLC will also host and record the Mayoral Candidates Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 25th, at Stevens DeBaun Auditorium. Stay tuned!
