It’s October, which means two things: Halloween has finally arrived along with the associated excuses to eat candy until you explode (from happiness), and great running weather is finally here (anyone who’s tried to run a marathon in 95-degree heat knows the joy of a cloudy day in the 60s). And once again you can combine those two wonderful things with an even better thing—helping to raise money for the Hoboken Shelter—by participating in the HoBOOken 5K race on Saturday, October 28th at 10AM at Pier A.
Best of all, until midnight TONIGHT (Friday, October 13th), you can register for the race with a coupon code for $5 off the registration fee!
That’s right—not only do you get to participate in one of the most fun races held all year (seriously—plan on running in costume) and help the shelter, but you save $5 to boot. Just enter the code 2WEEKS when you register over at www.hobooken5k.com.
The HoBOOKen 5k is designed to be a fun community-oriented run. The course is flat and goes along the waterfront with its spectacular views of Manhattan, you can get to Pier A easily via walking or PATH if you’re out of town (parking via SpotHero), and there will be awards for best costumes. A warmup before the race is being hosted by Retro Fitness, and a stretch after the race is being hosted by Powerflow Yoga.
It’s also a family-friendly event, with a Scary Scurry organized for the kiddies by Little Hoboken and The Inner Athlete. What better way to teach your kids about helping the community and people in need. You can do even more by joining the Fundraising Contest or buying a Charity Bib for $100.
Did we mention it’s $5 off today only? We’re pretty sure we did. Run on over to www.hobooken5k.com and register right now, save your dollars, and then raise more for a good cause while having a blast and wearing something ridiculous. Isn’t that what Halloween is all about?
